OCC ALL CONFERENCE SELECTION PROCEDURES

Section 3...

All-Conference teams will be selected via a weighted ballot or conference finish option. Coaches will decide which option their sport will use at their O.C.C. dinner meeting (prior to their next season).

All schools will vote by written ballot for season ending or weighted ballot selection option. In the event of a tie the presiding A.D. will contact absentees for their vote. A majority vote is requited to change the selection process. The sport will be advised of the voting outcome.

All Conference teams will not be made public until the A.D.’s discuss the selections at the next available meeting

Section 4...

The following procedure for All-Conference selections in team sports is as follows:

a. - The selection process will be presided over by the Athletic Director in charge of the respective sport.

b. - The selections are to be based upon statistics of the athlete in OCC contests and competition only.

c. - All coaches may submit a list of all-conference nominees and their Scholar-Athlete to the Athletic Director in charge of that sport one week prior to the selection meeting.

d. - At the all-conference selection meeting a coach may add or delete any or all names on his/her list and nominate others.

e. - If a coach fails to attend the selection meeting or arrives too late to make his nominations, the list he/she provided the Athletic Director will be submitted as his/her nominations. In the absence of a coach, a designee from the absent school may vote.

f. - If a coach fails to submit a list or fails to attend the selection meeting, coaches may or may not nominate players from the absent school.

g. - After nominations by each coach, a weighted ballot will be used to determine the 1st team. This will be followed by a second weighted ballot for second team selection.

h. - Coaches will be permitted to vote for their own players. First/second team selections must appear on three ballots. If there are not enough selections to fill out a team after the first ballot, re-vote. Those already selected to teams stay. Re-vote to fill the remaining slots (vote as if first ballot). The results of the balloting of each coach will be announced.

i. - If final position on a team is a tie by two candidates, they both will be placed on the respective 1st or 2nd team.

j. - If more than two tie for the final All-Conference position, a second weighted ballot is taken involving all of those tied. The multiple ties must be voted down to a maximum of two tied, preferably there will be no ties.

k. - The 1st team player with the most votes shall be named “Player of the Year”.
