OCC RULES and REGULATIONS
GIRLS TRACK
 

1. - Dual Meet Regulations

a. - The divisional schedule shall consist of a single round of five (5) dual meets that do not count toward the championship. If necessary schedules will rotate yearly so that all division schools would compete with one another through a two year cycle. This schedule shall be prepared by the athletic directors and approved by the Executive Committee. The divisional championship will be determined by a two day divisional meet. The divisional meets will conclude the OCC schedule. Boys and girls dual and divisional meets shall be combined.

b. - In dual meet running events, the competing schools shall be allowed to fill the lanes or alleys. Each school may enter four competitors in the field events.

c. - The order for field events for dual meets is as follows:

1 .Pole vault – boys 6. Pole Vault - girls
2. Shot put – girls 7. Shot Put _ - boys
3. Discus – boys 8. Discus - girls
4. Long jump - boys 9. Long Jump - girls
5. High jump-girls 10. High Jump - boys

d. - Each dual meet will have a registered starter or referee.

e. - The starting height for boys and girls high jump and boys pole vault will be mutually agreed upon by the coaches involved.

f. - Each school shall be given adequate travel time to provide sufficient warm-up time to comply with the starting time. All conference meets should take place on the day scheduled.

g. - All conference meets are to start at 5:00 p.m. with the field events. Running events shall start at 5:15 p.m.

2. - Divisional Meet Regulations

a. - The divisional track meet results will determine the divisional champion.

b. - Divisional meet entries from each school shall be limited to three (3) contestants per school per event and one (1) relay team per school per relay event. The divisional meet will be a two day event with semi-finals and finals. It is recommended that divisional meets be held on Thursday after school and on Saturday. No events which are not State Meet events will be run in divisional meets.

c. - Coaches must submit their entries to the Meet Manager no later than the Friday, preceding the Divisional Meet. Substitutions may be made provided the substitute is made to the Meet Manager no later than noon of the first day of competition. After that time, no substitutions will be accepted. Scratches will be accepted by the Clerk of the Course as usual. (Substitutions will be permitted if they are the result of a competitor being injured or becoming ill during the contest. The first day of the competition means the day the event is to be competed.).

d. - The divisional meet will be held at a site selected by the coaches and athletic directors. The site shall have an eight (8) lane track.

e. - Ralph Young shall assigned qualified officials to conduct the two day Divisional meets.

f. - Divisional meet "officials" needs and fees are as follows:

Works boys and girls meets and seeding meeting.

Boys starter and girls back-up starter. Plus shells.

g. - A minimum of one (1) OHSAA Registered Track and Field Official must be present at all meets.

3. - The use of tobacco, in any form, by coaches or contestants during the meet is prohibited.
