OCC RULES and REGULATIONS
BOYS and GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
 

1. - Divisional championships for cross country will be determined by divisional meets. Divisional dual meet schedules will not be developed. (3/6/95) EFFECTIVE IN THE 1995-6 SEASON.

2. - The championships in girls cross country will be the same as boys, providing a majority of the schools have teams when the divisional dual meet schedule begins.

3. - The divisional meet manager must be someone other than the cross country coach of the host school. The meet manager shall chair a “course committee” composed of three coaches. If a school challenges the site, this committee will meet 14 days before the meet to either approve or disapprove the site.  The site of the meet will follow the order of rotation established for cross country or be determined by the athletic directors.

4. - Divisional meet managers have the following responsibilities:

a. - To conduct the meet in accordance with procedures outlined in the by-laws.

b. - Be responsible for marking the course, providing scoring personal, and the presentation of awards.

c. - Pay all meet expenses and submit requests for reimbursement to the conference treasurer.

d. - Provide thirty (30) copies of the financial report to the conference secretary.

e. - Provide complete meet results to the conference secretary and all cross country coaches.

f. - Hire a certified track official to act as starter and finish judge at the current fee. A ten dollar ($10.00) entry fee shall be assessed each school entered, to cover the cost of personnel needed to run the meet.

g. - Be responsible for providing two toilets at Cross-Country Divisional Meets if the site chosen for competition does not have restroom facilities available for team use.

h. - Authorized personnel and fees:

Meet Manager ............... $50.00 per division
Referee/Starter ............. $ 8.00 per race
Timer/Scorer (2) .......... $ 6.00 per race
Course Inspectors ...... $ 6.00 per race
Chute Workers ............. $ 6.50 per race
Trainer ........................... $15.00 per hour  * Corrected 9/17/03
Ticket Seller ................. Sponsors Going Rate
Ticket Taker ................. Sponsors Going Rate
Adult Worker .................Sponsors Going Rate
Student Worker ............Sponsors Going Rate

5. - The host schools of boys and girls cross country, gymnastics, and swimming and diving shall be compensated $100.00 for each divisional contest hosted by their schools.

6. - The use of tobacco, in any form, by coaches or contestants during the meet is prohibited.

7. - See By-Law 7 for information concerning awards.

8. - Schools shall provide detailed maps of site locations of Cross Country meets.
