| 1. - Cheerleaders will be admitted free to contests when in uniform. The number to be admitted will be the same as that listed in the official contest program. 2. - The home school athletic director shall designate the area in which the cheerleaders will cheer. This may prove limiting to the number of cheerleaders allowed to cheer at one time but accommodations shall be made for at least six (6) cheerleaders. 3. - Home cheerleaders shall greet the visiting cheerleaders and perform their "hello" cheer first. 4. - During basketball games, the visiting cheerleaders will perform the first time-out and then time-out's will be alternated by the schools. 5. - No rhythm cheers, which would lead to stamping on the bleachers, are to be used. 6. - Cheerleaders will set an example that encourages positive spectator behavior while the visiting cheerleaders are performing on the field or floor. 7. - Cheerleader Pyramids and Acrobatic Routines (OHSAA HANDBOOK). a. - Pyramids and mounts by cheerleaders are prohibited. Individuals may not stand on another's shoulders or support another individual in any type of mount. b. - Mini-trampolines are prohibited. c. - All Articles, By-Laws and Regulations are to be followed 11/12/96 in any competition between O.C.C. schools. (divisional play, or non conference games between O.C.C. schools). RECOMMENDATION (OHSAA) It is recommended that schools adopt the same regulations for cheerleading activities at regular season contests sponsored by schools. 8. - The use of tobacco in any form, by advisors or cheerleaders, during the contest is not permitted. 9. - See By-Law 8 for information concerning the following: warm-up area, signs, posters, hoops, pompoms, noise-makers, band with cheers and positive cheering. |
